Over 85% of all human information is received visually. People, like magpies, are drawn to pretty and interesting things. If the visual effects around them are boring and lifeless, chances are this will reflect on your sales. However, if the visual effects are fresh, exciting, and intriguing, this increases the awareness of the product in the customer’s mind and will increase sales and improve profit margins! You want to make more money, right?

William Shakespeare was right on when he said “all the world’s a stage”. Staging is the art of presenting a product in an appealing light or manner. This can be done through lighting, an interesting accent wall, a display case with the right accessories, vibrant signage or anything that makes you stand out from the competition. Visual merchandising needs to be stimulating, engaging and imaginative. Utilize cross-merchandising techniques to draw shoppers to other items or different areas of your store. Shopping is an experience. People are more likely to buy something if they can see themselves using the product. How things are merchandised and promoted have a major impact on customers’ reactions to them which reflects on your sales.
